The Drunken Master

Kung Fu techniques in China are often handed down from father to son, to create a family tradition. One of these forms reveals itself in the Drunken Master. A technique developed to copy the stagger and non symmetry shown by an intoxicated individual. The drunken master is quite the opposite, as it is intended to deceive an opponent and lull them into a false sense of security.

This vase copies the design of an old Chinese wine flask, yet can hold flowers or stand on it own. Metal is delicately moulded into this shape which belies the non symmetry of the Drunken Master.
