The Taoist

Taoism is a philosophical, ethical and religious tradition of Chinese origin. The term ‘Tao’ means way or path. It denotes something that is both the source and the force behind everything that exists.

This sculpture identifies itself with the robes worn by the Taoist priest and is a strong Asian motif.  The Daoshi, or Taoist priests, are experts of Taoist liturgy and employ their skills for the benefit of their community.
