Eternal Springtime

This sculpture represents Eternal Springtime or Wing Chun. This piece is named after a female student, Yim Wing Chun, initially taught Kung Fu to defend against an unwanted suitor.

The art of Wing Chun has been passed down from teacher to student for hundreds of years and eventually used to defend Shaolin temples against Qing Dynasty soldiers.

The piece reflects the Taoist circular nature of life with no beginning and no end. A lily forms the centre of an exotic circle, suitable for mounting on a wall.
